Troubleshooting common login and authentication problems in Shyfts.

Password Problems

I forgot my password

If you can't remember your password:

  1. Go to the Shyfts login page
  2. Click "Forgot Password"
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Check your email for a reset link
  5. Click the link and create a new password

Password requirements:

  • Minimum 8 characters
  • At least one uppercase letter
  • At least one lowercase letter
  • At least one number

I didn't receive the password reset email

If the reset email doesn't arrive:

  1. Check your spam/junk folder
  2. Wait 5 minutes - emails can be delayed
  3. Verify your email address is correct
  4. Try again with the correct email
  5. Contact your manager if still not received

Note: Reset links expire after 24 hours. Request a new one if yours has expired.

My password was rejected

If your new password isn't accepted:

  • Ensure it meets all requirements (see above)
  • Avoid common passwords (e.g., "password123")
  • Don't reuse recent passwords
  • Check for accidental spaces

I'm being asked to change my password on first login

This is normal! When your account is created, you receive a temporary password. For security, you must set your own password on first login.

Account Access

My account is locked

Accounts can be locked after too many failed login attempts. To unlock:

  1. Wait 15 minutes for automatic unlock
  2. Or contact your company manager
  3. They can reset your password or unlock your account

I can't access Shyfts at all

If you can't reach the Shyfts website:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Try a different browser
  3. Clear your browser cache
  4. Check if Shyfts is down (ask colleagues)
  5. Contact your manager or IT support

I can log in but see "Access Denied"

This means you're authenticated but lack permission:

  • Your account may be deactivated
  • Your role may have changed
  • You may be trying to access a restricted area
  • Contact your manager to check your account status

Session Issues

I keep getting logged out

Frequent logouts can be caused by:

  • Inactivity timeout: Shyfts logs you out after 30 minutes of inactivity
  • Session conflicts: Logging in on another device
  • Browser settings: Cookies being cleared
  • Private/incognito mode: Sessions aren't saved

Solutions:

  • Stay active in the application
  • Only use one device at a time
  • Ensure cookies are enabled
  • Use a normal browser window

"Session Expired" message

Your session has timed out. Simply:

  1. Click the login link
  2. Enter your credentials
  3. You'll be logged back in

Unsaved work may be lost - save frequently!

I'm logged in but the page is blank

Try these steps:

  1. Refresh the page (Ctrl+R / Cmd+R)
  2. Hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R)
  3. Clear browser cache
  4. Try a different browser
  5. Log out and back in

Email Issues

I never received my account setup email

If you're new and haven't received credentials:

  1. Check your spam/junk folder
  2. Ask your manager to confirm your email address
  3. Request the email be resent
  4. Verify the email address is correct

Setup and reset links expire for security. Request a new one from your manager or use "Forgot Password".

I'm using the wrong email

If your email address has changed:

  1. You can't log in with the old email
  2. Ask your manager to update your email in Shyfts
  3. Once updated, use "Forgot Password" with the new email

Multi-Factor Authentication (if enabled)

I can't receive my verification code

If you use 2FA and can't get the code:

  1. Check your authenticator app is synced correctly
  2. Try backup codes if you have them
  3. Contact your manager or system admin for help
  4. They may need to reset your 2FA settings

I changed my phone and lost access

If you've changed devices:

  1. Contact your company manager immediately
  2. They can temporarily disable 2FA
  3. You can then set up 2FA on your new device

Browser Issues

Login doesn't work in my browser

Try these solutions:

  1. Enable cookies (required for login)
  2. Disable ad blockers on Shyfts
  3. Update your browser to the latest version
  4. Try Chrome or Firefox (recommended)

I see a security warning

If you see "Your connection is not private":

  1. Check you're on the correct Shyfts URL
  2. Don't proceed if the URL looks suspicious
  3. Contact your IT support if unsure
  4. The issue may be network-related

  2. What happens when you try to login
  3. Any error messages you see
  4. Browser and device you're using
  5. When the problem started

  • Use a strong, unique password
  • Don't share your login credentials
  • Log out when using shared computers
  • Report suspicious activity immediately

Avoid Future Issues

  • Update your password periodically
  • Keep your email address current
  • Enable 2FA if available
  • Add Shyfts to your bookmarks
